I have been using and liking this script very well for the past 2 months. All of a sudden a few days ago the news wouldn't build. The window would pop up and it would just stay there. Evedently, even after closing the pop up window it is still running in the background.
My account was suspended and mt.cgi was named the culprit.
Has anyone had this problem before? Has it been addressed? I had about 80 or so news posts and it has been working for a few months before this happened.
Thank you,
Tyrnt

If the window still pops up but never progresses, make sure you're not running something like ZoneAlarm or Norton Security with settings aimed at blocking popups.

I´m just having THE SAME problem over here.
The blog just doesn´t publish. I rebuild it over and over, even with my firewall shut down, but the posts can´t be seen in my blog.
The becoma archivated, but they don´t apear in the main page.
Please, help me.

They're in the archives but not on the main page? Things to check:
Are you sure your Local Site Path is set correctly?
Is the Main Index Template still set to rebuild automatically?
Are the dates on the recent entries older than the "number of days to display" setting in Configuration > Preferences?

Shelley thanks for the help, but I tried all of these, and none worked.
The posts aren´t appearing in the main page...

When you login via FTP, does it look like the index.html file is being rebuilt??

I don´t login via FTP...
I login normally, in the mblog page.
But, when I rebuild, its look like everything is being rebuilt.

This was just all of a sudden. Like I said in the first post i have been using it for 2 months without a hitch and boom it crashes the server twice. I almost lost my host because of it. I am trying to get error logs that prove it is the scripts fault so I can forward it to the creators and maybe they can figure out how to prevent it from happening again.

The only time I've ever heard of a rebuild window popping up and nothing ever happening involved the use of software aimed at blocking popups (like those previously mentioned).
If it stayed up and then actually timed out after a certain amount of time, that would cause me to suspect either some type of code in the templates that was causing an unusual amount of rebuild time; or a server cutting off the process before it could complete (not unheard of with some hosts who restrict the resources any one script can use).
The error logs may or may not provide any useful information, so it will be interesting to see what they reveal in this case.
