My MT stopped working completely. i still have my archived files, but i can no longer login to MT using the password and username i created and my blog index file is no longer there. the entire folder where my blog resides is deleted aside from my sub-folders. WHAT HAPPEND? i try to login and type in my user name for "Forgot Password?" and it says it cannot find that user name? any ideas?
All my CGI files and DB files are there and the persmissions for those folders are 755 and 777

Did you run out of space on your hosting account?

No i have plenty of space available, not even 50% used. all my other files are there and working fine, only my blog is nto working right. only files missing are in the index of my blog, such as the main page, the RSS pages and the XML pages. i still have all the templates saved, but i need to gain access to my blog inorder to rebuild those apges.
is there a way to restore it and still retaint eh same DB info? or should i just save the archived pages and rebuild my MT Blog? i'm hoping someone will have a solution along the lines of the former, and not the latter

Is it possible the server itself ran out of space?
Unless you have a backup of the database, or you can convert the files (assuming that perhaps your host changed the version of Berkeley on your server) it sounds like you may have to start over with your database.

there's no problem witht he server. all of the files are still there. i'm checking with the support right now to see if at least my blog index files can be restored, and then ill try to get my CGI-BIN files restored. if i just restore them, all of my Blog should be functioning properly, right? i know that if the restored files are from before a new entry was added then that entry might be missing, but how would that effect my blog? shouldi reenter it fromthe archived HTML file?

First you're saying files are gone, but now you're saying they're all there. Which is it exactly?
You said your entire blog folder was gone. If it were me, I'd be questioning my host pretty hard about how the files got deleted in the first place.
Restoration really depends on which files were missing. Obviously, you need your db files restored intact in order to login to MT again. Without being able to login, you won't be able to do anything with the existing data.

only the static files in my blog, and the CGI files are affected. the rest of the content on my site is unaffected. if you click on my site and click the link to my blog (the hair) you'll see what i mean. the archive is still there, so i backed that up to my hard drive. the index.html, the index.xml, and the RSS files are all gone, everything inside the static folder, that is not in any subfolder. make sense?
and when i go to mt.cgi, i cannot login, and it does not recognize the username when i go to retrieve my password. the CGI files are all there. my first thought is that someone hacked my blog and deleted everything, but i had deleted the mt-load.cgi file when i installed it.
i'm asked my host to restore what files they have from the last backup, which they said was yesterday, and i have only on new entry since then. so i'm waiting to see what happens.

oh i c, i said "all of the files are still there", when i meant all the files outside of the blog are still there. sorry, was a bit rushed when i typed that.
