Does the error below imply that along with apparent upgrades, my web host has moved its installation of perl and its modules to a different directory? If so, and I somehow discover the new path, is there any easy way to fix my MT installation to utilize them? I have a powerful html/perl/etc text editor, I can do massive search and replaces. Is this all I would need to do this? Am I looking at a total reinstall? Urgent! But who's non urgent problems around here anyway.

If the path to Perl has changed, you only need to update the first line in the .cgi scripts to point to it.

But that error message could just mean they didn't upgrade properly, and the DB_File module was affected.

Thanks Shelly,

I finally got through to tech support (Covad web hosting).. BTW Covad is hosting my website, and apparently they do a very poor job of FYIing their customers.. there has been a change to perl directories and such, and they said they will call me back regarding that soon

there has to be at least one other person using COVAD with MT or vice versa.. Ill make sure to post the correct path if I manage to make it work.

thanks for the info regarding the .cgi dealies..

Just as a side question.. If i wanted to 'install MT to another web server.. could I copy all files and directories over and expect it to work.. assuming all calls to the domain , perl directories, and MT directories were identical?

Another side question.. know anyone who can hold my hand a bit in explaining trackback pings, and how it autoupdates another site.. Ive read manuals and posts and such, It's very confusing to me..

thanks again!
