Full Version: Email Notification

I don't know if this is an MT thing or a Mac thing. I'm testing email notifications on my recipe site. When I select "Include Entire Entry Body" in the Send a Notification section, the email works fine, but the text of the message comes over with the HTML tags, not the stylized output. So I see < img src="http://whatever... not the actual image. I'm using MacOS 10.3 and my three email browsers are Mail, Entourage and a webmail package. In all three I get the tags.

I would prefer to send a notification email with the HTML rendering properly if the receiving email program can handle it. Second choice would be to send an email notification with the Entry Body, not excerpt, but with the HTML all stripped out.

Any suggestions?

a search of the forum for 'html notification' brought up this thread and this thread.

Hope that helps.

Thanks LisaJill, but unfortunately, no solutions here. I tried Girlie's suggestion in this thread which gave me the photo in the email, but lost the hyperlink to the entry. The URL was there, but it wasn't a link.

The other thread suggested a Perl hack as a potential method to try, but didn't give instructions. Many people on this thread also chimed in that they were looking for a solution. So I guess until there is a better alternative, I'll just send the link, not the entry.
