Hello,
I'm running MT v. 2.661 and for almost ten weeks and have had very few problems. However, I haven't been able to post in quite a few days because of a problem.
On Sunday, I wrote a post pertaining to Friday so, I just switched the date, shut down Norton Internet Security as always, and switched from draft to publish.
However, I was not able to have my material published. Currently while trying to post I get this strange message:
mkdir /html: Permission denied at /home/content/T/o/k/TokyoDragon/html/cgi/mt/lib/MT/FileMgr/Local.pm line 104
I've already contacted my service provider, but perhaps the problem lies somewhere within MT.
Someone, please help me.
Thanks!

That error usually means that the Local Site Path and/or Local Archive Path in Weblog Config is not correct.
Since MT was working before and now you're getting this error, I would suspect that you're host has moved your account to a different directory or a different server.
You might try running mt-check.cgi again in your browser. Look at the "Current working path" reported by mt-check.cgi and compare it to the paths in Weblog Config. If it looks like the path has changed, change the Local Site Path and Local Archive Path in Weblog Config to reflect the new path, then rebuild your weblog.
Hope this helps...

Thanks Tweezerman.
I forwarded your response to my hosting provider and will also look into it myself.
I've now changed the settings as you suggested after running mt-check.cgi. The posts now save fine i.e. no error messages, however I'm still not able to see them on my main page. I've already checked to make sure the post is on "publish", not "draft". I've also rebuilt the site.
Any ideas?

Are you using <MTEntries> in your template with no attributes, and has it been more than 7 days since the date of your last post?
MT only displays the last 7 days worth of entries on your weblog when MTEntries has no attibutes. If the answer to both of the above questions is 'yes', this would cause you not to see any entries on your main page. Changing the MTEntries tag to <MTEntries lastn="7"> and rebuilding your weblog should make your weblog entries "reappear" in that case.
If not, a link to your website and the code you're using in your template between the MTEntries and /MTEntries tags might help. (Be sure to use the CODE button to enclose any template code in CODE and /CODE tags.)

Tweezerman,
I'm using the default setting, "7 previous posts". I can see them, just can't post anything new. However, the stuff that I've written over the past few days has been saved as a draft, just not published on the site. Please take a look at
TokyoDragon.
As far as the code goes, I'm willing to post what I have. However, I'm not quite sure where you want me to copy the code from. What style sheet or data page would be useful to you. I didn't do the coding myself, but had a Six Apart member install the software for me on my server. I've changed the main page from one of the provided templates, but that shouldn't have caused this problem.

What do you currently have for the following settings in Weblog Config:
1) Local Site Path
2) Site URL
3) Local Archive Path
4) Archive URL

Apparently, GoDaddy changed all their paths (I'm the one who did your install) but mt-check.cgi
still doesn't report the correct full path (it used to show absolutely nothing). So this is what you need to use now:
/home/content/T/o/k/TokyoDragon/html
http://www.tokyodragon.net//home/content/T/o/k/TokyoDragon/html/archives
http://www.tokyodragon.net/archives/See, your mt-check.cgi only shows /home/content/T/o/k/TokyoDragon but there needs to be "html" after it as well.

Thanks a lot Shelley and Tweezerman!
I just made the corrections as you suggested and things came out wonderfully.
GoDaddy should have notified their clients via email prior to making massive changes.
If you're ever in Tokyo, drop me a line via my blog or Ando(at)TokyoDragon.net and I'll buy you a round.
Thanks,
TokyoDragon
