Full Version: combining two blogs on one site

I want to combine my two journals, my "regular" journal and my reading journal, onto one page for the purposes of the 24-hour charity blog. I literally want one entry from one to follow an entry from another (rather than sideblogging), like kadyellebee's default style.

I am at a loss, esp. since the wiki's down right now. sad.gif Any suggestions? Thank you!

Yes, I use Otherblog to include sidebar info from one to the other, but I literally want entries to follow each other chronologically. Is OB the way to go?

If I'm not mistaken, OtherBlog can do that.

Really? That would be awesome.

Where do I insert that code? Just after the MTEntries tag?

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

No, that tag goes before MTEntries.

It worked! Thank you. smile.gif

I still don't see how I can get them to properly alternate, since if I up the entry count number, it returns x postings from blog 1 then x postings from blog 2, rather than all postings in chronological order. So still confuzzled. . .but happy. Thanks!

You can't with MTOtherblog. Look at GlobalListings from mt-plugins.org. That's what I used when I used MT. =) I wrote up a short post on it here and if you look at blogstyles.com - theres a tutorial on how kristine does her portal page.

Hey Carla smile.gif

Yep, I use the Global Listings plugin, and then the Compare plugin to change the way the information is presented based on which blog it is.

I'm going to toy around with those two plugins this weekend. Thanks to you and to Lisa-Jill's tutorial, I'll have everything exactly the way I want it. Thank you!!
