At http://www.movabletype.org/product_info.shtml it says: "Drivers also available for Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server"

Where are these drivers?

I'd be very interested to know as well.
TweezerMan
As far as I know, those drivers don't exist and never have. They are no longer listed on the above linked page.

Just got this from Six Apart:

Hi, Nancy. Movable Type does not currently support MS SQL. The options it does support are Berkeley (DB_File), MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQLite. We may add support for additional databases in the future, or members of our developers network may also devise third party drivers for these, but I do not currently have an estimated timeframe for this.

Does anyone know (if I can talk my IT dept into adding MySQL so I can use MT for our Intranet) if there will be compatibility problems on our server or if the Microsoft patches will somehow damage the functionality of the MT installation?

They're asking me if anyone has experience with this issue on an Intranet and I have no idea.

The only way a Microsoft patch could damage a Movable Type installation would be if it changed the permissions on any of your files. It would just be a matter of changing them back. Very unlikely IMHO.

One more question about this ... Can the Microsoft SQL and mySQL, etc., interfere with each other in any way? Can a Microsoft patch affect the database?

They hired me as a content manager and I don't know anything about servers, etc. Thanks for your patience and help.

Update: Just received this from the MT Support folks. Thank you so much!

Hi, Nancy.  Movable Type does not currently support MS SQL.

However, I cannot imagine that having MySQL also installed would cause any interference. Many of our users run Movable Type on Windows servers using a MySQL database without any problems.
