After a otherwise sucessful install I get this at the bottom on the movabletype windows after logging in:

"Use of uninitialized value in string eq at lib/MT/App/CMS.pm line 316"

Any ideas? huh.gif

I believe that means there's a problem retrieving the feed for the Movable Type News box on the Main Menu after you login - do you see any items in that area?
Nilson
I see "More news about Movable Type." and Movable Type forwards to www.movabletype.org. But I see no particular news, no, I guess that is the idea..

Is your host blocking outgoing traffic on your server?
Nilson
Is there any special traffic/port your talking about? The reply I got asking was "We are not blocking outgoing traffic - that would be kinda silly, wouldn't it?" huh.gif

MT connects to the Six Apart server to retrieve the news feed; I'm not certain which port - maybe 80?

I don't know if it's silly or not, but I do know that it's not the first time I've encountered a host who blocked that connection.
