I tried to establish the new TypeKey signin/signout tags in my templates, and added the TypeKeyVersion 1.1 bit in mt.cfg, but once that's all in place clicking on any signin or signout links results in a server error and a logfile error saying that TypeKeyVersion is not defined.

You may want to try re-uploading your MT files again - it's possible that not all of them were upgraded. Make sure all of the files are uploaded and overwrite any existing ones, including the subdirectories. Specifically, [mt.cgi dir]/lib/MT/ConfigMgr.pm not being upgraded could cause this error.
theonetruebix
There was no uploading. The upgrade was downloaded directly to my server box and the 3.01D files untarred directly into my mt directory. The only way there could be a missing or un-upgraded file is if it wasn't in the tarfile downloaded from Sixapart.

And I've verified that everything in the 3.01D upgrade tarfile indeed properly resides in my mt/ directory.

If you open the copy of lib/MT/ConfigMgr.pm on your server, what is the version and date stamp in the fourth line of code?

CODE
# $Id: ConfigMgr.pm,v 1.91.4.1 2004/07/01 20:29:58 ezra Exp $

Seemingly just what you just posted:

CODE
# $Id: ConfigMgr.pm,v 1.91.4.1 2004/07/01 20:29:58 ezra Exp $

Hmm. I get a different error if I add it to mt.cfg: "The validation failed".

Off to file a report.

Hi there
Did you find a solution for this perhaps? I am experiencing similar problems as detailed here
