Hi - hoping for some help here!
I have one seemingly corrupt post and it's having a drastic effect on the whole weblog in MT 3.01D. In fact, nothing appears at all on the site (the files when rebuilt are 0 B in size) and in the "List and Edit Entries" screen within MT nothing appears at all.
It seems worse than it is, however, because if I go through the "Categories" screen they all appear with what look to be the correct number of posts in each category. I also know the categories of both the post before and after the one in question and they ARE visible via that route. I can also reach the post previous through the comment editing screens.
I was also able to successfully export all the posts (except for the one at issue), so all is not lost. But obviously it would be preferable to just delete the specific post that is clearly the problem and rebuild.
Little help?
Alternatively, if I were going to re-import the posts I just exported, how do I delete posts in the DB (Berkely DB not SQL) so I can start from scratch? Or does this mean doing my whole install again?

Files building at 0 byte size typically indicates a lack of space on the server and/or hosting account. Running out of space can lead to a corrupted database, and one of the signs of a corrupted database is not seeing your entries listed in the interface.
You won't necessarily have to re-install (in terms of uploading the MT files again), but you most likely will have to delete all the database files and run mt-load.cgi again.
This will wipe out everything in your database, so if you can still access your templates and copy them out, I'd recommend doing just that before your re-initialize the database.

Yeah, from reading around here more and by carefully looking at the behaviour of the instance of MT I started to come to the same conclusion.
I have systematically stored all of the templates - I just finished them all yesterday anyhow - and do have an up-to-date export of the files, so everything should work.
Is this procedure documented anywhere?
I assume that by "delete all the database files" you mean to delete everything in the "db" folder? Are there other generated files I should also get rid of?
Thanks!

Yes, the files in the db folder would be the ones. Or you can just create a new folder for the database files and modify your mt.cfg to point there instead.
Basically, you'd just upload mt-load.cgi back to your server, run it, and then login as Melody/Nelson. Change her information to yours and then begin re-configuring your blog(s) and importing your entries.
