I'm using the initial 3.0 release and I can't seem to configure MT to NOT moderate every comment.

Here's my current comment configuration:

Accept Comments from Unregistered Visitors
CHECKED

Require Name and Email Address Information
NOT CHECKED

Enable Unregistered Comment Moderation
NOT CHECKED

Accept Comments from Registered Visitors
CHECKED

Enable Auto-Approval
CHECKED

Require Email Addresses From TypeKey
NOT CHECKED

This problem occurs even when using the default Individual Archive template.

Also, I have MT configured to send an email with each comment, but emails are sporadically sent. Sometimes I'll get the email sometimes I won't.

Anyone have any ideas?

Actually, I am. Is there a conflict between MT Blacklist and MT 3.x?

Ok, I removed MT-Blacklist and everything seems fine, now.

How do you remove MT Blacklist?

The easiest way is to remove plugins/Blacklist.pl from the server.

Yeah, figured it out after a while -- kind of worked backwards from install instructions. Actually emailed the blacklist dude and encouraged him to write up uninstall instructions and put it in his documentation.

Will look forward to MT-Blacklist 2, to be included with MT 3.1!
