Can anybody throw me a line on why the commenting system isn't working on my site. Doesn't seem to of worked since I installed it a couple of days ago.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me. Sorry for being a complete idiot newbie!

Today is my first day with this and I think i can already help you wiht this because i had the same issue and i just figured it out.

Log in to your account, click on Weblog Config, click on Preferences because by default when you go into Weblog Config you're looking at "Core Setup" and not "Preferences". Now click on "Comment Configuration"

Hope this helps, if not, don't blame me. I've only been working with MovableType for all of 3 hours. :-)

oh yea, then i just figured out you've gotta "rebuild" your site. I'm not sure I get why but that seems to be what you have to do anytime you make a configuration change.

Sorry, I should of mentioned that I've already tried altering the setting within preferences and rebuilt etc, and still it doesn't work.

Thanks anyway.

Nobody else had this problem or know what I'm doing wrong?

You might want to take a look at the Weblog Config | Archive Files page in MT. It looks like you may have something crossed between the Individual and Monthly Archive types and their association with the Individual Entry Archive and Date-Based Archive templates.

Even though your permalinks are linking to the correct name of an Individual Entry Archive page, the pages themselves appear to be based on the Date-Based (Monthly) Archive template instead of the Individual Entry Archive template - each Individual Entry Archive page is listing all 3 of your entries instead of just one, with no comments form.

I think this has something to do with your archiving settings. Your comments link isn't pointing to where it needs to go - the individual archive page. But I can't go see what it's supposed to be on a site that's working because I'm not using 3.0 right now.

It's like you don't have any individual archives. Or the individual archive template is screwed up. sad.gif
