When I first logged on to mt.cgi I added my user name, gave it all the permissions, then tried to delete the Helen or whatever name is initially there. When I did that there was an error, it never got deleted, and now I can't add, change, edit authors and a lot of the stuff on my Blog settings is either missing or not working correctly. Any suggestions on what I need to do? I was thinking i could go into the database and change the values on the author stuff from no to yes but i didn't know if that would screw it up more....please help

Hmmm. The instructions say to change Melody's information to your own (rather than deleting her).

But - maybe the problem here is with the mt.js file? Was it uploaded to your server in ASCII mode to the location you've designated for your static files?
