Full Version: GM import works but with weird error

Great, glad it worked! And I'm glad you figured out the problem. The errors you were receiving were, as you suspected, probably due to some messed-up entries that were imported--it's hard to tell what was wrong with them, but they seem like they may have been completely blank.

I am not sure exactly how the blank entries arise... I will have to do some testing. The system doesn't like a completely blank title and entry body--this is what causes the warnings on list & edit entries.

I imported about 7 months' worth of Greymatter entries successfully, yay! Thanks so much for the detailed Import directions in the user manual.

One odd thing, though...although I got a "import successful" message, when I went to the entry listing page there were lines of code -above- the top of the Movable Type header:

CODE
MT::App::CMS=HASH(0x8266a7c) Use of uninitialized value at /vws/electricpenguin.com/cgi-bin/mt/lib/MT/Util.pm line 150.
MT::App::CMS=HASH(0x8266a7c) Use of uninitialized value at /vws/electricpenguin.com/cgi-bin/mt/lib/MT/App/CMS.pm line 878.
MT::App::CMS=HASH(0x8266a7c) Use of uninitialized value at /vws/electricpenguin.com/cgi-bin/mt/lib/MT/Util.pm line 150.
MT::App::CMS=HASH(0x8266a7c) Use of uninitialized value at /vws/electricpenguin.com/cgi-bin/mt/lib/MT/App/CMS.pm line 878.

I also noticed that there were two blank entries listed for today. I deleted those entries, rebuilt all the files (the lines of error code appeared in that smaller rebuild window as well), and everything seems to be fine now.

I'm SO happy that I don't have to re-enter those entries by hand! Movable Type is WONDERFUL; I'm so impressed by the clean user interface, useability, and elegant design throughout.

Thanks so much...

Debbie

Is there something in the import routine that has problems with blank data?  I'd like to know as I can make sure my Radio8 exporter 'pre-treats' the data before sending it to MT.
