Full Version: CGI Path may be wrong?

Hi,

I just installed movable type 3.0 and everything has gone very smooth considering I know nothing about Perl or Movable type.

I've run into a problem though on the last step. I've already initialized the system and got the green light to begin publishing. When I go to login using the provided username: melody and password: nelson and click submit, I get a "404 Not Found error". I think this may be due to the CGI Path being incorrect, so I changed it in the mt.cfg file to what I believe is the correct one, but I still get the "404 Not Found error" and I see the link pointing to the old path.

Is there somewhere else I should change it or has it been locked in when I initialized everything?

Thanks for all the help.

Okay - I fixed it. I didn't have the CGI files in the CGI bin! duh!

I'm now working on setting up my first weblog and I keep getting an error when it comes to rebuilding my index. I have the "NoTempFiles 1" listed in my mt.cfg file and I also changed the main directory to a 777 permissions but I still get an error when trying to rebuild the index file. Any ideas why???

Thanks so much.

Well - I keep solving my own problems. I needed to set the permissions on the index.html file so I could write to it. It's all good now!!! I can finally go to sleep!! Hope my problems helped others.
