I'm trying to install the MT Search for my blog, and I've followed the directions (found at http://www.jayallen.org/mt-search/docs/manual.html#about) to a tee. The files are named properly (including proper capitalization), permissions are set to 755 (I have also tried with permissions set to 777) but I get an error message when I try to run the search. The installation instructions simply prompt you to reinstall if you get an error message, but I'm certain I have done everything correctly.

Can anybody suggest what I may be overlooking?
