Well I'm sure there's quite a few different things you could try. How about two blogs and SSI?

Not sure how to phrase this best, so I'll use an example. I'd like to include two news ''streams'', like Metafilter. Metafilter has the main blog, but also includes semi-regular announcements on the right hand side of the page. Of course I could just do it by hand, but is there a way to do it using Movable type.
In fact, thanks for the idea. I have my geocaching site set up like this now using SSI. A main section and a side section. Cool!
