No, afraid not--this has come up several times in past requests, and the reason it's tricky is because it complicates the dependencies when rebuilding a particular entry.

In the individual entry archive template there is a navigation menu that allows you to browse through the next and previous entry.

Something like:

< Item 1 | Main | Item 3 >

Is there a tag I can use that will force this menu to only link to the next and previous entry in that category - yet keep the intividual entry archive template global for all categories?
