My Site: The Ward
I am running MT 3.14 on a clean install.
I made several modifications to the style sheet and the site would correctly render. But when I added an entry (via echo) it would revert back to an old style sheet. If I uploaded the correct style sheet and rebuilt the site everything was fine again. Do another entry and it would happen all over again. So I did the same fix but when I went to rebuild the site, the admin window looked like this: Picture

And now the site has the old style sheet and the old fix no longer works and I have no idea how to begin fixing the admin window issue.

Thanks.
(Sorry about the other topic with the misspelled title.)

I think you should just check in your mt.cfg if you have set you staticpath correctly.

Your MT main page looks like that cause it doesn't use the "styles.css" stylesheet that comes with MovableType.

Maybe just try to locate where your script is trying to find the "styles.css" files which is use for that main page. Once "styles.css" is correctly put on your server at the good place, the main window of MT should look .... much beautiful ! smile.gif

Good luck!

But I am not installing MT in the cgi-bin. The instructions say to leave the staticPath commented out. I have movable type installed right on the root.

Thanks.

You need to upload your styles.css into the correct location. I just took a look at your installation and the stylesheet is meant to be located here but it isn't there. Upload it and you should be good to go smile.gif

Thanks arvind_2100 and Menestrel... changing the style sheet seems to have worked!

Now can someone tell me why the admin window now looks like this?

Thanks.
arvind
Your stylesheet seems to be incorrect. Make sure its been uploaded in ASCII format. If you have then try re-downloading MT and upload the stylesheet from there.

Thanks for all your help everyone, but I've decided to go with the nuclear option. So I will be spending the next few hours deleting MT off my site and doing a fresh install of Blogger!

Just kidding... I'll be reinstalling, giving Six Apart $70 and installing MT 3.14

Thanks again.
