Hi,

I would like to use MT Blacklist and started an install on my 3.14 installation (I have since added the plug-in announced yesterday). I checked to see if background tasks were on and they were. But when I went to change the LaunchBackgroundTasks line in my mt.cfg, I couldn't find it. I looked and looked and ran searches and could not find it. I'm wondering if in my previous upgrade from MT 2.6 to MT 3.0 or 3.1 if I somehow missed some update to mt.cfg? if that is so, I wonder what else is missing. Anyway, I'm wondering how I can add this line to the file so that I can use MT Blacklist. I looked in the documentation and found templates but no mt.cfg file. Does anyone know where else I can look or what I should add? Thanks!

One the long standing flaws in MT for those upgrading is that new directive have to be manually discovered and added to the configuration file. In other words, if you are like me you just copy your mt.cfg file from one version to another you won't get these new directives and their documentation added in where you just uncomment them and change their value.

As for adding the LaunchBackgroundTasks directive to your mt.cfg file just open it up and add...

CODE
LaunchBackgroundTasks 1

...on its own line somewhere in the file. Save it and you should be set.

BTW: I assume you've tested your environment to see if background task can be run.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that does help! "Manually discovered" does not sound like a great method for upgrading an installation. Yikes! Anyway, I really appreciate your response, thanks a lot!

I was wondering this too. Is there something else that we should about from the mt.cfg file that is different from an MT v2.6x release? (Note, in the upgrade distribution package, there is no mt.cfg available to compare.)

Thanks.

Download the full version to get a new copy of mt.cfg. wink.gif Yo can also find a list of most of the configuration settings (including some not listed in the mt.cfg) in the User Manual. smile.gif
