I'm having trouble uploading images. The image uploads fine to the dir but it wont produce the html it just gives me a screen saying "An error occurred:" without detailing the error. This is only happening on one of my blogs.
It doesn't seem to match any other errors I can find by searching here.
Its on version 2.6
thanks.

I'm actually experiecing the same problem with an installation of MT 3.14.

When I run the mt-check.cgi as well, the page stops directly at Image:Magick without actually saying whether it's installed or not. It just ends.

I've checked with the webspace provider, and Image: Magick is definitely installed, so I'm not quite sure what the problem could be.

Does anyone have any clues?

If mt-check.cgi is halting on that module without reporting it's installed, then there is a problem with the module itself. I would ask your host to reinstall it.

Hi Shelley,

Thanks for the advice. I'm certainly looking into it.

However, Image:Magick is supposed to be optional isn't it? If this is the case, why is it affecting the site when I'm attempting to upload an image?

I've tested it, and the image uploads fine (I checked via FTP), but it just never goes to the image resize page and gives me an unknown error.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, without an error being reported, it's harder to know the exact cause. Is there anything in your server's error logs?

These are the errors that I get from the error log:

And this is a screenshot of the screen that comes up after the image upload screen:

Hmm... now that I look at it, it sounds like something to do with Image:Magick. What do you think? Any problems with mt.cgi as well?

Image: Magick is definitely installed

I had exactly the same problem (mt-check.cgi stalled on ImageMagick check) and errors when uploading files. I had been successfully uploading files and creating thumbnails for months and suddenly started getting these errors.

After searching the forum messages, I was certain the problem was with a borked ImageMagick / PerlMagick installation. I opened a help ticket with my hosting service and included some of the info I found here. They recompiled ImageMagick (incl PerlMagick) from scratch and all is well with the world now. biggrin.gif

Here is a link to a post that was particularly helpful when getting help from my hosting service.

Hope this helps! smile.gif
