My host moved my account to a new server. Upon doing so, I now cannot login to my Movable Type system.

When I go to my mt page, I get the usual login screen. Upon typing in my username and password it says "Invalid Login". When I go to the 'Forgot my password' screen, enter my info, it says "No such author with name 'XXXXX'", where XXXXX is my username.

I use Berkeley DB, so I checked out the 'author.db' file, my login username is in there (I only have one user).

When i run mt-medic it says I have no authors. And, I can't add authors, returns the following error: "Invalid author id '0'"

Anyone have any idea what I can do to get this thing working again?

I have the exact same problem and have also tried with mt-medic and it gave me the same error...

I have not changed servers... if my host did, i am unaware of it...

In the worst case, what should I be reffering to if I would wanna contact my hosting service about it? Technicaly speaking...

I'm having similar issues - after cloning our server to newer hardware, I can no longer log in to MT (2.6 running on MySQL). I have tried various MYSQL exports with the data, but to no avail.

The error message I'm receiving is this:

"Can't call method "id" on an undefined value at /Library/WebServer/CGI-Executables/lib/MT/App/CMS.pm line 190."

Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem today now too. I guess nobody knows how to fix it. I even tried reinstalling MT in another directory, but I don't know how to transfer my weblog entries. I tried copying over the entire db directory, but then after that I can't login any more, so I'm back where I started
