I just want to make sure that there is no need for a support contract that renews on a yearly basis. Could you please confirm this? Thanks.

Support options remain in effect while the license is active (with no yearly renewal fees); however, as new versions are released (i.e., 4.0), support for earlier versions (i.e., 3.x) would most likely be available for a limited time only (due to the potential confusion and complexity of trying to provide support for multiple versions which could have very distinct feature sets).

However, as the holder of a 3.x license, you would be able to upgrade to 4.0 at a discounted price, and that would also include any support options which would be available with a 4.0 license.
