I noticed that through the QuickPost feature that you can post outside of logging into the mt.cgi file. What I'd love to do is grab that code and slap it on the bottom of my homepage so that I can QuickPost.
What I don't like about that is that other people post to the blog. Is there a way to set up a quick login on the homepage, and then Quickpost feature I bake into the page will have whoever logs in as the author?
Thanks,
Chris

Not sure what you mean as "quick post from page"
You can use
AdminLinks plugin to edit posts, click edit when logged in and you can edit, you can also use it to link to publish page to make a new entry.

QuickPost is MovableType's one-click publishing that you can access through the main page of the MT interface in the Shortcuts side bar.
I took a look at the AdminLinks plugin, and that is very close to what I'm looking for.
Here's what I'm looking for in 2 steps:
1. Somebody comes to the homepage and logins in

2. They can post an entry from the homepage

The tough part is the login. The second step can (I assume) be taken care of by stripping out some of the code from the QuickPost popup window.
Yeah? Ideas?
Thanks,
Chris

Why not just include the QuickPost link on the bottum of your blog? If you arn't logged in it pulls up the login page, other wise it pulls up the quickpost. Wouldn't that be the easiest way to fit your needS?

I'll try that out, but as far as I can tell, who the author is is built into the link; meaning that I'll install that QuickPost link and anyone who uses it will come up as me as the author.
Thanks,
Chris

Eric, you were right. It doesn't bake the author into the link. This will work perfectly. People will login and be able to post without having to go through all of MT.
Thanks!
Chris
