Full Version: Your Datasource Directory Does Not Exist

Two days ago everything was working fine. I haven't done anything except post an entry. No error messages, nothing funky until I tried to login yesterday.

When I go to the URL of my login: my login page

I get this error message: Got an error: Your DataSource directory ('/netapp/berle/s7/s7/01075/www.woolberryfarm.com/webdocs/movabletype') does not exist.

The site itself is still up but if someone tries to comment they get a similar error message.

Earthlink is my host and I'm fairly certain they did something at their end that broke it but when I call their support they just tell me they can't support third party scripts.

If I could tell them what they did wrong OR if you all can tell me what I did I would really appreciate it.

I'm running version 2.6. I purchased version 3.17 and have just never gotten around to upgrading. Now I can't even get into the back end to export my entries.

Will I fix it just by upgrading?

Hope I posted in the right forum. These posts were the only ones that sounded remotely similar.
Thanks,

Laurie

Looking at the 'Current Working Directory' on your mt-check.cgi script, and comparing that to the path indicated in the error message, my guess would be that your server path has changed.

Try changing your DataSource line in mt.cfg using the path indicated in mt-check.cgi, to make sure that it is still correct. smile.gif

I am having a similar problem, everything was fine until a few days ago when I was posting a new post and received the following error message:

mkdir /netapp/benny: No such file or directory at lib/MT/FileMgr/Local.pm line 104

In reading the solutions you've offered above, I looked at my mt.cfg file and found this:
# The filesystem path to the 'db' directory, where your MT database

# files are stored. You will probably need to change this when you

# first install MT; instructions for doing so are in the Installation

# Instructions, in INSTALLING THE MOVABLE TYPE APPLICATION CODE, Step 8.

DataSource ./db

but in mt-check.cgi it says this:
Current working directory: $cwd

This is a little beyond my technical abilities, but would love any advice, besides switching to another blogging tool. In addition, any advice info on how to upgrade would be much appreciated as well.

thanks in advance,
Sean
