Howdy folks,
We're having a sittuation here with our hosting firm, Lunarpages. Yesterday they've informed us the following:
"Currently, your plan allows for no greater than 10% top
processes and 1% average CPU usage. Also, we do not
allow the use of movable type on our servers because it is
often a high resource item."
Then they go ahead and list our MT.CGI eating up 42% of CPU time on a quad processor machine. (!!)
MovableType, a high resource item?? On the contrary, I'd say it is less CPU-intensive than PHP-based tools, which run scripts all the time as opposed to MT, which creates HTML pages.
Lunarpages are also warning us:
"Please make a decision on how you would like to proceed
within seven (7) days. After seven (7) days, your account
will be suspended if no other arrangements are made."
A search on Google revealed lots of similar cases. :-(
Given Lunarpages is such a large ISP, I'd say this is a serious issue for discussion.
So, what to do? Other people in the same sittuation?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
