My users have blogs on a firewall-protected intranet. They are read (and posted to) from outside that firewall, but always via an https link.
However, trackbacks don't work. When we provide a new post with a trackback URL (starting with https), it attempts the ping but gets 501 error, saying that https is not a supported protocol scheme.
Has anyone managed to get this to work?

HTTP error: 501 Protocol scheme 'https' is not supported
when I try to post an entry with a trackback. This might be the same issue. Did you manage to solve it?
