Full Version: Stylecatcher "please Configure" Error
Movable Type Community Forum > Using Movable Type > Default Stylesheets
scottfrans
I have done a fresh install of MT 3.2 and installed Stylecatcher and I am still getting this error when clicking on More Settings:

An error occurred:
Please configure the settings for this plugin before using it.

/home/scottfr/public_html/mt/ is my MT root.
From Stylecatcher 1.01, the "plugins" directory was added to /home/scottfr/public_html/mt/plugins, creating /home/scottfr/public_html/mt/plugins/StyleCatcher

stylecatcher.cgi was set to mode 755

mt-static was dumped into /home/scottfr/public_html/mt/ creating /home/scottfr/public_html/mt/mt-static/plugins/

In the plugins section of movable type, when clicking Show Settings, my Theme Root URL is http://www.scottfrans.com/mt/themes and the Theme Root Path is set to /home/scottfr/public_html/mt/themes/ and this directory was created and set to mode 755

This has created base-weblog.css in ../themes/ but I still get the "please configure" error when clicking StyleCatcher or More Settings.

Any suggestions?

I have the same problem too.

Previously I was able to do it with another website. But for this new website of mine, the configuration just didn't work. i'm darn frustrated now! Have been working for hours on it!

I, too, am suffering from this same configuration failure on a fresh install of MT 3.2 and StyleCatcher v1.01. Paths are correct, permissions are set to 755...

Can anyone provide any insight or help?

look here

1. goto mainmenu
2. click "plugins" on the right
3. click stylecatcher

that's OK

I found I had to create the themes folder in /mt/mt-static/themes for this plugin to work. HTH.

Go to Plugins from the main menu. Click on "Show Settings" below StyleCatcher.

Set your Theme Root URL (add /themes/ at the end of mt-static if it's not there).
Set your Theme Root Path (should be your mt-static path plus /themes/)

Then you should be set.

Are you getting the "please configure" message? If so, do this and make sure your paths are all correct:

Go to Plugins from the main menu. Click on "Show Settings" below StyleCatcher.

Set your Theme Root URL (add /themes/ at the end of mt-static if it's not there).
Set your Theme Root Path (should be your mt-static path plus /themes/)

Then you should be set.

If that has been done and you're still getting the error, please let me know.

I had the same problem as people above have described: "Please configure the settings for this plugin before using it."

The above quoted section fixed my issue. To clarify, visit the main MT console page and choose "Plug Ins". I had to set the appropriate mt-static location. Once that was done,I opened the "Plug Ins" section from within the weblog and I was able to access more settings and start browsing styles.

I'm having the same problems here sad.gif

Theme Root URL: http://www.be-heard.net/mt-static/themes
Theme Root Path: /home/.bandit/rasheeda/be-heard.net/mt-static/themes

After putting these settings in, the plugin created base-weblog.css in the correct folder but I am still getting

Please configure the settings for this plugin before using it.
I have already set the CHMOD on the mt-static/themes folder to 777

Hey the plugins have to be configured at two locations..

one > go to your weblog > settings > plugins > stylecatcher > and do the settings
for the theme folder. (if folder not there create it in webserver, give write permissions to everyone).

two > go to MAIN MENU (top link in movable type window) > in main menu page, right-side bar, click on "Plugins" .. check the stylecatcher settings here also.. the settings here are not modified when u modify at the above location..

This should definitely fix the problem.

Thanks,

Thank you so much pl_harish! This fixed my problem. You have to make sure to configure the MAIN MENU>>PLUGINS as well as under the specific weblog.
