I upgraded from MT 3.17 to MT 3.2. No problem until I tried save a new entry. When I clicked Save, I got an "Error on page." in the lower left hand corner of Internet Explorer 6 and nothing happens. So I tried other buttons like junk, publish, and delete (mass junking of trackbacks for example) and got the same error. This is my very first error with MT. Been using MT since version 2. And I have a good grasp of MT so this is just totally confusing me.

Any help would be appreciated! smile.gif

Check that you've uploaded the contents of the mt-static folder in the distribution to your StaticWebPath folder, specifically all the js files as that's where the buttons get their actions from. More Information

Well, I did all that and still no change. So I tried a new MT 3.2 installation and it does the same thing. Very puzzling indeed. I checked the error I'm getting in IE6 and here is what it is:

Line: 304
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: http://my.blog.url/cgi-bin/mt/mt.cgi?...pings&blog_id=2

Color me extremely puzzled.

Could you provide your actual URL as well as what you have set for StaticWebPath?

Thanks!

EUREKA! I renamed my "mt-static" directory to "static", changed the corresponding value in "mt-config.cgi" and things are working like a charm. I cleared my browser cache (both IE6 and Firefox) three times and it didn't work. But I rename the directory and it works?!!? HAHA!

Computers... Go figure!

Thanks for the help anyways.

Just want to say, I had this exact same problem - nothing happening when clicking the junk button, the delete button causing errors etc. and I renamed my file too, like you did, and viola! It is working like a dream biggrin.gif

I feel like it must be a cache issue - I didn't try emptying my cache before I changed the file name, I searched on here first ... but since you cleared yours who knows?
