I'm in the process of getting ready to upgrade my 3.17 installation to 3.2. That is I've made a dB dump, backed up the entire site etc. But in reviewing the upgrade documentation I noticed that it mentioned this:
QUOTE
If you have made use of Movable Type's facility for alternate application templates through the use of the `AltTemplatePath` configuration directive, you should move these files aside since they were created for previous versions of Movable Type and are not compatible with MT 3.2.
I did the design but did not create nor modify templates for my site http://www.worldrider.com/; so I have no idea what the AltTemplatePath is, nor how would I find out if this was used in my templates?
Secondly, I noticed that a similar warning heeded me to watch for modultes:
QUOTE
If you have added any special modules into your existing extlib folder, use caution when uploading the new files, to make sure you don't inadvertently overwrite any files already there which you need to keep. If you've customized your search templates by editing the files in search_templates, do **not** select this folder from the distribution for upload, or you will **lose** your changes to these files.
I can see that there are a few modules when I select view templates. How do I find out if these are in my exitlib folder and what impact or functioanlity would these offer?
So before I move with transfering the new files over my existing MT installation, I want to make sure I'm not going to regret things later. While I have backups, I don't want to have to use them
Thanks
