Full Version: New Style Messes Up Main Page
Movable Type Community Forum > Using Movable Type > Default Stylesheets

I just upgraded to 3.2 and have set up the style catcher plug-in to change styles.

When I change from the custom style I have to a standard it messes up my main page - the sidebar with links, archives etc. shoots down to below my entries - any idea why??

I tried the refresh and back-up template thing for my main page but that didn't seem to fix the problem!

Reverting to my old style it all looks fine again!

First thing you should do is make sure that your paths are set properly for StyleCatcher (click on "show settings" in the right hand column next to StyleCatcher on the Plugins page).

Your URL should be: http://www.example.com/mt-static/themes/
and your root path: /path_to_mt-static/themes

Once you fix those, then you should have better luck with StyleCatcher.

Tried that - still doesn't fix the problem : (

It looks like the css you're using is based on a different version of the layouts because it's missing a lot of information. Could you use one of the themes from:
http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/styles/library

and see if those layout better on your site?

Rebuilt all templates and then tried again with a default style using stylecatcher and it finally seems to have worked - many thanks for the help smile.gif smile.gif
