Sometimes I want to modify a group of old entries, but every entry save would rebuild assoiciated templates. If I can save those entries first and rebuild them all later, it would save me a lot of rebuild time.
So my suggestion is to add an option in entry editing page, to make it like:
I've asked about this in the past myself, and almost everybody just kind of thought I was weird for even thinking about it. I can't recall right now if anyone came up with any ideas, but I'll see about rummaging through my archives to find the thread. I think it was on a mailing list.
For what it's worth, there's nothing in MT proper that will do this for you in any especially clean way.
I suppose you could make your edits, setting the posts to Unpublished as you go, and save them. Then when you're all done, find those posts again(using the filter on the entry listing page) and use the Publish Entries itemset action(dropdown over on the right) to send them back out, but that's just ew. And you'd also have to make sure you're not using the new DeleteFilesAtRebuild config directive. All in all, too much work.
