Full Version: Css Code Of Style Does Not Render Correctly

I use MT3.2. I have some problems when I try to change the template of my blog.

I have the 'Stylecatcher' plugin installed. When i use the Stylecatcher, the style is changed and all works fine. But this meant that if I needed to change or tweak an element in the CSS code, I had to FTP download the css code template file, edit the code and then FTP upload the file.

To overcome this, I decided not to use Stylecatcher plugin. Instead get the CSS code for the particular template and copy paste iinto the StyleSheet template in MT3.2

But every time I do this, the rendered page shifts all the way to the left, instead of it being centered and some elements do not render correctly.

Why does this happen? Am I doing something wrong?

With StyleCatcher, you get 2 CSS files - one that applies to any style and contains basic positioning information and one that contains the specific coding to give you the colors, fonts, etc you want from a particular style/theme.

So you may be missing the first stylesheet/styles from your CSS file. You can look for base-weblog.css on your server and then see if those styles are in the Stylesheet template that you are editing.

If you still have trouble, please include your URL. smile.gif

Hi, Lisa. I've used the same style for several months, Powell Street. Today it disappeared. So I went to the StyleCatcher library and selected the same theme. It was confirmed it was attached. But it's not there.

Any advice? I have both CSS files.

Thank you.

Neither of these files are found on your server:

http://www.thenecessarylanguage.com/mt-sta...base-weblog.css
http://www.thenecessarylanguage.com/mt-sta...well_street.css

It may be that they're in a different directory so you'll want to use your FTP program and see if you can find where they are. You could also check the System Shortcuts > Plugins > Show Settings next to Stylecatcher (not More Settings) to see what those directories are set to.

Thanks, Lisa. It's okay now. It's a subdomain so I had to paste in the main domin ahead of it.
