Today, I decided to change my 'main' MT password.

Did so, tried to log back into MT with the new password.

Didn't work. Hmm.

Tried a couple more times. Didn't work.

Look at peek at the MySQL db and everything looks fine.

Tell the MT system "I've forgotten my password" and give it my reminder.

MT says okay, and sends me the new password in my email.

Put that in.... "Invalid login."

Hmm.

Do that again a couple times. Meanwhile, I'm watching the MySQL db and I'm seeing that the field for my password IS being changed every time I ask for a new one.

I have a backup login that I haven't used or touched in ages. It's a backup... that's what it's for.

I try logging in with THAT ID and password. Doesn't work.

Try to reset that one. Same problem.

I check to make sure that MT is set up to use the right DB and right DB password. It is... when I change either setting, I loose access to the Database entirely.

SO...

It can see the db.
It can modify the passwords in the db.
It can send out the new password.
It is, meanwhile, running properly and updating comments people make and so forth. All that is working.

But every login is an 'invalid login'.

Help? It looks as though, as soon as I changed any of the passwords, it screwed up MT's ability to correctly read ANY password in my user list.

EDIT:

In fact, it sounds exactly like what the user is describing in this post.
