Full Version: Publish Post Brings Blank Page

I have some bizarre behavior going with my install that is really more annoying that problematic, but I'd still love to fix it anyway.

After completing and publishing an entry, movable type will go through and ping services. I'll see the listing of each on my screen. But after that's completed, rather than returning back to my newly publishing entry, I'll get a blank page.

The entry will go live. Places like technorati seem to be pinged. I just get a blank page that requires me to manually bring myself back to movable type.

I don't have these problems after editing an entry that's already published. Does anybody have ideas what might be happening? It's more frustrating than interfering with my ability to create, but it's starting to get REALLY annoying.

A blank screen when using a CGI script is often an indication of Perl crashing, or another error (perhaps a memory restriction or timeout) preventing the script from completing its execution. Memory issues locally can also be an issue sometimes. Are any errors being logged in your server error logs? Or any other errors or unusual behaviour rebuilding your site, etc?

What about resaving an existing entry, as opposed to creating a new one? If you go to the Entries screen, and place a check in the checkbox for the entry, and then click "Rebuild", does the entry rebuild correclty and update your site? Are you sending any TrackBack or update pings with the entry? Do you have internal or external TrackBack auto-discovery enabled? If you turn this off, do you still see this problem? Are there any errors being logged in your Activity Log?
