Ran into the same problem that domino cat ran into in this post:
http://www.sixapart.com/movabletype/forums...showtopic=58326

Tried everythign suggested...
mt-check.cgi won't run unless I delete the mt-config.cgi file, once deleted then mt-check.cgi loads but mt.cgi won't load.

Is there a way to get debug information? I tried enabling the Debug variable in the mt-config.cgi file but that didn't work.

Also, I tried various things like, deleting the database and creating a new one... and that didn't work (thinking it was a table issue).

I did notice this in my error logs for the server when mt-config.cgi existed and trying to run the mt-check.cgi...
"Useless use of private variable in void context at mt-check.cgi line 318."

And noticed this when trying to run the mt.cgi script...
"[Sat Jun 24 15:32:29 2006] [error] [client 203.109.119.203] Premature end of script headers: /hsphere/local/home/fmartens/iseedaylight.com/cgi-bin/mt.cgi"

See this article for information about the error reported with mt-check.cgi.

Have you tried uploading /lib/ and /extlib/ again? Rechecked your configuration settings/database settings are correct in mt-config.cgi?

Yea, fixed that line, fixed the error but the script won't load unless I delete that config file.

The config file has all the right information in it.

I'm running 3.2 of the software, maybe I should try backleveling?

What port does the scripts use for DB access? How can I confirm this?

MT will use whatever port is defined by DBPort in mt-config.cgi. For MySQL,
this defaults to 3306 if DBPort is not defined. To find out the correct port
to use, you will need to check with your host provider. Generally DBPort does
not need to be defined unless the DB server has been specifically set up to
listen on a port other than the default.

Well nothing works sad.gif

Does anyone know if it has a problem with either sendmail or the smtp ports
that it might hang?
