As of this morning, when I try to log into moveable type, there is a long wait, and I get an error message. If I look at my browser's location line, where I had typed http://..../mt/mt.cgi now reads http://...mt/mt-upgrade.cgi:

CGIWrap Error: Execution of this script not permitted

Execution of (mt) is not permitted for the following reason:

Script is not a regular file

----------------------------------------------------------------------

If I log into my shell account and run mt.cgi from the command line, I get this:

% perl mt.cgi
Status: 302 Moved
Pragma: no-cache
Location: http://nish.pair.com/cgi-bin/cgiwrap/~adav.../mt-upgrade.cgi

What on earth could have happened?

No. I thought I'd check first to see if this were known behavior, or if it matched something that is known on the MT end. I can't think of any likely change on the hosting end (other than corruption of the a file or database table) that could lead to this result.
