Hello all-- Hope someone can help me. The lovely folks at LivingDot.com got my blog, Back-to-Iraq.com, mostly back up and running after transferring it from Yahoo's crap servers. Now I'm just waiting for the domain to propagate through the new DNS servers... or something like that.

While I'm waiting, I'd like to clear out some of the 68,000+ comments. Most of them -- maybe 90% -- are spam. And I'd like to use MySQL queries through phpMyAdmin to do this, as when I try to load the comment page in the MT control panel, the system has an aneurysm.

So my question is: how to do this? Can someone point me to a step-by-step guide? I know nothing of phpMyAdmin or structuring MySQL queries, so I'm raw to all this.

Also, can this hurt my database? I assume once I delete the proper queries, I just rebuild the blog and it will clean itself up, yes?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
chris
