Is there another way to backup up a weblog, other than using the export utility? I've tried the TypeMover plugin, but cannot get it to work (user error for sure).
I have an old blog (MT 3.2) that I want to overhaul. It's been upgraded so many times, and probably incorrectly, that I know the best thing to do is just wipe out everything and start from scratch. I just want to backup the latest entries before doing so. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to export all the entries.
When I run the export utility it only saves up until a certain entry and then stops. It's either that entry or a fraction of the very first entry on the weblog. Weird! It appears to be a timing out issue with my database. I tried to switch to SQL about two upgrades ago, but it never worked properly (again, probably due to some screwy installation errors). So it's using the Berkely database.
I then attempted to rebuild all the entires in hopes that that may make a difference. However, the rebuild stalls out and never completes. Definitely a timing issue. I'm able to rebuild the catagories and index, but anything larger (entries) and it bonks out.
What should I do? There are too many entries not represented by my most recent backup. Any advice? Can I migrate my database over to MySQL and then save it? Is this possible?
Thanks!
