Just did some reading on Microformats and this seems a pretty interesting and promising technology that gets implemented more and more (Last.fm for instance uses hcalendar and hcard). There's allready an implemented but outdated plugin for movable type.

It doesn't seem to be such a difficult feature to implement, but it seems very powerfull though.

Another new technology which is very easy to implement, but very promising to is Microid and has an implemented plugin allready

Both technologies seem to be the future of a more structured semantic way of blogging and it could be a big step forward if movable type implements this.

Any thoughts on this?

You don't really need a plugin for most microformat stuff, you just need to make sure your templates are coded to standard. It would certainly be nice if MT displayed tags correctly so we could use rel="tag" to its fullest.

Well it would be nice if you can choose between different types of blogposts, like review, event, newsitem etc.. and that mt would have the appropiate input fields and uses the appropiate template with those tags.
