MT4.01: I'm writing an entry named "welcome"; it auto-saves at some point; when I save and publish it and am returned to the edit entry page, suddenly I'm editing an entry with basename 'welcome_1'. I don't notice the basename, but I do notice that when I edit the entry, I'm not seeing the changes reflected on my page. Then I scroll down and realize that the entry appears twice, and my changes are being made, but to the entry with basename 'welcome_1', which for some reason appears as a previous entry to the one with basename 'welcome', even though its basename suggests that it would have been a later entry.
I've occasionally had a similar issue with duplicate unpublished entries showing up in the entry manager. It doesn't happen every time, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with auto-save. My best guess is that it's auto-saving at the same time that I click the save button, and the latter doesn't override the former. Has this happened to anyone else? I definitely want entries to auto-save, but this is kind of an annoying, if only occasional, side effect.
For some reason when I used my grandfather's computer over the summer, a long entry that took a while to write might yield 20 or more copies of itself in various stages of completion, but that was in MT3.something using the auto-save plugin, before I upgraded. I don't know if that would still happen or not; he lives far away and I haven't had a chance to visit again.
