Full Version: Pages Directories Can't Be Deleted

I'm using the latest version of MT4.01, just downloaded it three days ago.

I've been attempting to customize where my 'pages' as opposed to blog entries are stored. The default is in the / root directory. My initial hope was to be able to go up a level, and store it in a folder called /library which is at the same level as /blog. Unfortunately it appears that all pages must go either in the same directory as /blog or in a subdirectory nelow (ex: /blog/pages/ )

In my attempts to do this, several directories and subdirectories under /blog have been created and stored by MT. So when I go to save a new page, it gives me about 10 pathways (all created in error) to choose from.

At this point, I'd like to be able to delete these directories from showing up as 'options' in MT, as I've already deleted them off my server using my ftp program.

There appears to be no way to delete these (no delete button, drop-down, etc). Is this an oversight on the designers part, or a bug?

You don't see them when you go to Manage -> Folders?

Hi Su-

Yes, I do see them in the Manage-> Folders. However, the only options are to select the subdirectory folder with a 'green' button on the left, or hit the '+' button on the right to add yet another subdirectory under a subdirectory. No where can I see any way to delete the folder itself.

And above the listing, you don't see a "Delete" button?

Ok, I've included a screenshot of the dashboard:

As you can see, there are the folders with subfolders, the green selection to pick the folder, and a + key to the right to create another subfolder underneath it. Where in here is the delete function?

That's not at all what I'm talking about. I said the Manage -> Folders screen:

Great, I didn't even know of this section. I was able to delete the folders.

However, it still seems like you can't create folders outside of the place the blog is located. I was really hoping to put all of my blog at /blog and all of my other pages (not related to the blog) in a seperate folder (not under /blog) called /pages for everything else. Yet when I create a 'Top Folder' it still puts it as a subfolder at /blog/pages/

Change your Site Root and publishing directory to the domain root, and then adjust your archive mappings as necessary.
