I like how MT4's preview shows entries and pages as they will appear on the published page. But there are some things I find frustrating about the way it's implemented.

If you are editing the portion of a post that's under the Extended tab, when the you return from preview the entry form loads with the focus on the Body tab. I think there should be some way for the system to remember the state of the entry form between Previews, ideally including the scroll location of the last edit.

Along similar lines, I would like the option to have the Extended portion of an entry in a resizable field directly under the resizable Body field, rather than on a separate tab, similar to how earlier versions of MT worked. This option could be under the Display Options link. I think it would make repetitive editing of extended posts more straightforward and less click intensive, especially when you're frequently previewing your edits.

Would it be possible to edit the entry from template so that the Extended section was on the main page, rather than under the second tab? Tabs can be useful in a UI, but in this case it just hides an important part of the UI with (in my view) little real or consistent benefit.

(I've tried streamlining this process, such as displaying the Preview in another browser window, But it doesn't seem possible to get Ctrl-click or Shift-click on the Preview button to open a second window. And even when you get the entry edit form and the preview in separate widows, there's now way to get the preview to read changes in the entry. Oh well.)
