Why can't Movable Type have page categories? I'm trying to build a portfolio site with static pages created on MT and thought it would be great if pages have categories, along with existent tags. Can anyone help me? Or suggest a better idea to fully categorize a portfolio on MT?

Folders are categories for pages.

You've probably moved on, but nothing says you can't use entries instead of pages for your portfolio. Because I write perennial articles, I just changed my blog from the default date-based archiving to saving the articles at domain/category/sub/ per http://www.movabletype.org/documentation/a...ve-mapping.html

Listings and other templates can be tailored to remove anything you don't want displayed, such as the author name or creation date. IfCategory lets you differentiate layouts if you need to get fancy.
