I'm using MT 3.36. It's been a while since I installed a new plugin and I'm encountering a problem installing SodaHead's poll plugin. When I place their directories in the proper place in both the mt-static dir and the plugin dir I can't login to my MT backend. When I removed these files, the login was fine.

Should I be applying certain permissions to these plugin directories/files before attempting a login? Or is there something else I should be doing?

Also, I'd like to contact the developer of this plugin (for other reasons), but can't find a contact email on their site.

Has anyone tried this with MT4.1? Files are loaded, in the right place, but I see nothing on the backend on my MT dashboard? I had to change permissions for the sodahead.cgi file, but what else is there?

The document says I should see a prompt to upgrade the plugin, but nothing happens.

I have left a comment at the plugin developer site, but thought I'd try here just in case.

P.S. I'm not a PC, blog geek, so if there is a response, be kind, speak a language I might be able to understand with a regular Webster dictionary.

Have a look in the system log to see if there are any errors loading the plugin.
