Full Version: [mt4.1] Some Blog Settings Not Taking Effect

I made a change to the Blog Settings for Entry on MT 4.1. I checked for the Action Bar (Save, Delete, etc.) to appear in BOTH (top and bottom). I saved and published. The setting did not take effect.

The Blog Settings for Entry show that the action bar for BOTH is checked, but when you make an entry or update an existing entry, the action bar is still only on the bottom.

I went back to an older blog (3.x) I had upgraded to 4.1 and the same problem is occurring. On that blog, I had changed the action bar to appear in both and it did. After upgrading to 4.1, I tried to change the setting as a test to TOP. Again it showed checked, but the change to the action bar did not take effect.

I don't know how many other settings may or may not be taking effect due to this same bug. I will have to work through that.

Anyone else seen this behavior?

Regards,
Rob

Well, I don't know much about how MT stores the setting for the action bar, I'm assuming it's in a cookie, but I don't know. Do me a favor, and from the entry window, set the action bar to display "both" and then search your source code for a line that looks like this:

CODE
<div id="container-inner" class=" related-content related-content-without-content-nav show-actions-bar-bottom show-actions-bar-top">

I figured it out. Evidently, once you have created a user, the global entry settings is effective for newly created users only. For users that have already been created, you have to open an Entry and then click on Display Options on the right side of the screen and select the Action bar options for both. Duh.

Cheers,
