Full Version: Font Size Not Changing

This is kind of an embarrassing question. I've started using "em" sized fonts recently, and today I wanted to increase the font size of my content paragraphs. So I went to that tag on my stylesheet and increased the font size. But it doesn't show up. I have refreshed the heck out of my browser and have now decided that this must be a dummy error, because it seems like such a simple thing to change. Nothing else seems to be controlling the font size except for that area on my stylesheet. So why aren't the changes showing up? Grrr.

Can you post a link please?
imabug
did you rebuild the stylesheet? clear your browser cache?
CBP
Nuts, sorry about that. I'm over HERE.

I've rebuilt my stylesheet many times, and just now I went to the Tools drop-down menu in Firefox and cleared all data. But it's still happening.

In your stylesheet you have referenced content as a class when it is a div id.

In you stylesheet change all .content to #content

And again, thank you for your wonderful help. Never in a million years would I have figured that out on my own. You are very much appreciated.

No problem, always happy to give something back to the community.

Well, when I made the changes to my stylesheet, it appeared to fix the problem. But now I realize that only the font color has changed. The font size refuses to change. I'm using Firefox. Mozilla shows the increased font size. A mystery's afoot. Grrr. Might "em" things have something to do with it? Because (and this is really weirdo weird) . . . when I typed in a text-transform:uppercase to my ".content p" thing, it worked. Everything transformed to uppercase! And when I changed my font color to supersonic pink, it worked! But the font size won't budge. Not even one teeny little em. Double grrr.

So the change is showing in Mozilla?

The change shows in Safari on my Mac, but not in Firefox. In Firefox all changes but the font size are showing. Strange!
OtherNiceMan
Strange indeed.

I can change the font size and it shows, have you tried clearing your browser cache?

I use the web developer toolbar for Firefox which has a live edit for the stylesheet and I can ramp the ems up and see the changes.

Okay, I'm soooo embarrassed about this, but here's what happened. I primarily use Firefox. The changed font worked find in that browser. When I checked my site in Mozilla, however, I noticed a larger font. So I assumed that the Firefox one didn't change. But . . . it was a cache issue with Mozilla! A while back I had an even larger font, and Mozilla was still showing that, so when I compared the two it made it look my changes weren't working in Firefox. Make sense? Geesh. Thanks for your help. I need to clear all browsers from now on, or I'm going to be back here with more troubles and tears. Aaaahhhhggg!

We have all been there. I have spent hours before trying to fix something that did not need fixing because I had not cleared my cache.
