Full Version: Theme Isn't Being Applied As Expected

Good Morning All,

I upgraded my install of MT from 3 to 4 last weekend. This weekend, I wanted to change the appearance of the site, so I went into the dashboard for my blog and selected

  • Design,
  • Styles,
  • picked Minimalist White from the MT 4 style library,
  • chose the layout I wanted,
  • applied the design, and
  • published my site.

The site looks very different from the thumbnail shown for the design. I wondering if someone can point out for me why there is a discrepancy. My blog is accessible at http://travisspencer.com/.

TIA!

The reason was because I had modified the default template when running 3.2; then, when I upgraded to 4.1, it didn't update the template (because it didn't want to clobber my modifications). The theme was expected to find certain CSS classes that weren't there in the old 3.2 template that didn't get upgraded. So, I "refreshed" (i.e., reverted) the templates back to the defaults.

After that, I ran into a different problem. My blog wouldn't publish because I kept getting an HTTP 500 error. I tracked it down to the new asset widget being imported from the homepage widgets. Once that was removed, it published fine. I had to apply the Minimalistic White theme again; it kept using the Minimalistic Red theme (that's the default from what I understand).

Long story short, I got my site's design updated this weekend like I wanted, so I'm happy smile.gif
