Full Version: Upgrade To 4.1 From 3.3, No Stylesheets On Dashboard?!?!

This is baffling.

Did a straightforward upgrade of my 3.34 install to a 4.1 install. No errors, seemingly no problems... but when I log into /mt.cgi, the page displays without any stylesheet or javascript. I've tried flushing my cookie cache, I've tried different browsers, I've tried another re-install (making absolutely certain that all of the files are the 4.1 versions). mt-check shows no problems. I ran mt-wizard, just in case, and no change.

This is really getting frustrating. The site itself continues to display okay, although a test post I tried via MarsEdit failed to actually show up (it's listed in the Entries section, though -- double-weird). I'm loathe to try a rebuild, in case that hoses the site display.

That's what I see, whenever I log in. Any clues?

This points to a problem in the mt-static path in mt-config.cgi

Check that the mt-static files are available on the path specified. Another problem could be files loaded in binary rather than ASCII.

The path is fine; I re-used my previous mt-config.cgi file (as well as making a new one, to test), and hadn't changed any of the directory structures.

I also considered the bin/text possibility. Although I used AUTO for my FTP transfers initially, I just went back and hand-transfered (as it were) all of the mt-static files and folders, selecting BIN for images and TEXT for everything else.

This really makes no sense.

If you have ff, download the web developer toolbar, open the page and select CSS edit that will open all the styles sheets referenced and will show an error message if it can not find it.

Otherwise view source and try to open each stylesheet, there is defintely a problem with it not loading the stylesheet, or loading a mt3 stylesheet rather than mt4

Okay, finally figured out the problem. I had the mt-static directory in a different parent directory, so it didn't get updated with the new install. Replaced it with the 4.1 mt-static, and all is well.
