I have just finished manually copying and pasting four years worth of entries into two different blogs. Now I need to move the comments.

Is there anyway to move my comments that won't involve having to go through each individual archive again?

Is there a script or a MySQL command or something that can pull the comments and the commenters from the individual posts?

I have to say that copying and then pasting entries and then having to set the dates has really taken it out of me. I couldn't even set the actual time of posting because I couldn't do the manual conversion of military time. So, please don't tell me that I have to copy and paste my comments for each entry with no way of documenting the time they posted.

Did you find a way? I am having the exact same problem and would be thankful for any ideas.

What I need to do is copy a handful of entries from one blog to another. It's not that many, so it can be done by hand without too much trouble. Some of them have comments, though. They could in theory just be re-done as well, using the original commenters' information - except for the date the comments were made.
While it's easy to set the entries to the specific date and time I haven't found a way to recreate the original time the comments were made.

You could take a copy of the MT database and do some SQL (sorry to be so vague) to add the entries and comments.

There may also be a plugin that can help, I would need to look.

I guess I could change the blog number and topic number of those comments in the mt_comment table. Usually I try to avoid meddling directly with the databank, but it might be a possibility.
Do you happen to know if there's some other comment related data in one of the other tables that might interfere here?

In the mt_comments databank, find the comment you want to move and change the blog_id and the entry_id, rebuild the entries and you're set. I am sure, for someone wanting to move a whole set of comments some kind of batch could be written to do that.
